A Special Feeling
It is a wonderful feeling to build and earn the support of a growing community surrounding CMS Carolinas; it is an even greater feeling to realize that this community exists only because each of you comes together to welcome the two of us and CMS Carolinas into your lives each summer.
We wear many hats for CMS Carolinas - Artistic Directors, performers, audience members. Through each of these lenses we feel the deepening support and enthusiasm. Thank you!
This season presented tremendous art, with too many highlights to put in one letter - Brahms Sextet in week 1, Jones Violin Sonata in week 2, Reinaldo Moya's Yara in week 3 and Clarke Viola Sonata in week 4, to name too few. We presented 13 concerts and 8 community events with 16 artists.
We tried a few new things additional to the music. We held an interesting Q&A as part of week 2 and composer Reinaldo Moya visited in week 3. What a treat to gain these windows into the music and the worlds that surround it. This is only the beginning and we are excited to build on these next year.
Our passion is creating shared experiences through chamber music and this is only possible because of the enthusiasm and generous support from each of you. Thank you for welcoming us into your lives and thank you for your continued support to help us grow.

Join the Chamber Music Society of the Carolinas in 2027 for its 58th Season!
The Chamber Music Society of the Carolinas (CMS Carolinas) is a historic, world-class classical concert series set in the beautiful mountains of North and South Carolina. Each performance comprises a small group of talented, experienced artists, who provide context to the music through spoken introductions, before thrilling the audience with their performances.
Chamber music is a unique, intimate experience where each artist plays one to a part, and the collaboration of voices together leads to a vibrant conversation and a synergetic whole greater than the sum of its individual parts. The audience is able to experience this energy live, creating a magical and visceral experience.
Performers include Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated ensembles, exceptional American string quartets, Van Cliburn and Tchaikovsky competition medalists and principals of major US orchestras.
CMS Carolinas presents 13 concerts in July and August in three intimate and welcoming venues: Asheville, NC, Waynesville, NC, and Greenville, SC.
